While staying true to VW’s classic look, we’ve created a stronger, more functional rear bumper. This bumper includes a built-in 2" hitch receiver, and also serves as a heavy-duty platform for our bus swing away carrier system. Finished in gloss white powder coat for long-lasting durability.

Installation is quick and simple with basic hand tools. Complete hardware and step-by-step instructions are included.

Fits: 1973-79 Type II Bus.

NOTE: The GoWesty trailer hitches we offer for Bus and Vanagon are the same size as a standard Class III hitch (2”), and accept any accessory or towing insert that fits into a standard Class III hitch. We manufacture them this way to increase versatility. However, this hitch is NOT capable of standard Class III loading in terms of tongue weight or towing capacity. Do not load this hitch at the tow ball more than 200 lbs., and factor 10 lbs. less per inch outward from where the tow ball would normally sit—for using the hitch to carry bikes or a basket, for example. We do not recommend using this hitch to tow more than 1500 lbs.
