Introducing our GoWesty-designed kit that replaces the coolant hose that connects the left head to coolant surround pipe (commonly referred to as the "peace pipe" hose), with an aluminum elbow reducer fitting, and standard-size, available-at-any-auto-parts-store coolant hose. Protect and future-proof your van with this simple installation.

Fits: All 1986-91 Vanagon with the waterboxer engine.

Kit Contents: Aluminum elbow fitting, bulk hose, and new stainless hose clamps.

Silly formed hose? Say what? Yep, Volkswagen loved to use unnecessarily complicated formed cooling hoses on their vehicle cooling systems. These proprietary hoses had unusual bends, and often times different inlet and outlet sizes. They are a weak point just asking for trouble – a problem waiting in plain sight.
