These Bilstein twin-tube gas charged shocks are a direct replacement for the no longer available OEM BOGE/Sachs shock absorbers. They feature dampening much closer to the shocks that came on all Syncro models originally, but are a gas pressure design like the Old Man Emu variety. What this translates to is ride similar ride to the OEM shock with much higher heat capacity (off road driving) like the Old Man Emu shocks. They are a great option for anyone looking for a super quality, German made replacement shock absorber that can handle more heat like the Old Man Emu, but is not nearly as stiff. We highly recommend them for lighter weight Vanagon Syncro models, like hard-top and single and double cab trucks.
