203 cars entered, 62 cars never made it to the finish line. Both GoWesty vans completed the rally, placing #130 and #131 overall. A monumental achievement, and one hell of a good time!

Meet the Team Westafari van, or the LeMons van, as she's affectionately known around these parts. This 1986, 7-Passenger was originally a 2WD van that we transformed into a stripped out race van for the 24 Hours of LeMons races, winning Class C in 2016.
Inspired by the win, we set out to convert her to a 4WD Syncro for the NORRA Mexican 1000 in 2017. Still going strong after the grueling race, she ran it again in 2018 and is still going strong today.
New to racing NORRA this year is the GoWesty "Trainer" van. The GoWesty “Trainer” vehicle is a 1987 Syncro outfitted with the a bevy of GoWesty proprietary upgrades: 2.7 waterboxer engines, Fox shocks, lifting springs, lengthened trailing arms, steel skid plates, decoupler, front and rear lockers, posi-traction, and lots more. The “Trainer” is one of the most off-road capable Vanagons on the planet.
Check out the Team Westafari van and Trainer doing what they do best at a pre-NORRA beach day here:
