John and the kids are IN LOVE with it, but the wife says: "It's gotta go!" I don't know... but if it were me... I would consider getting a new... should I say it? Better not, I'm married, too! I guess not everyone is a Vanagon person...
So, it is back, and all freshened up. John is getting $58,100, and we are charging a modest 7% consignment commission. The rest of the money goes towards the work being performed this time around.
You get all the stuff we did just 17,290 miles ago for John, plus:
• Fresh updated JE 2.5 liter, indestructible pistons
• Super duper GoWesty detail inside, outside, and under
• Fresh super duper ultra major service: all items back to zero miles
• Fresh 225/70-16 BFG tires all around
• GoWesty upper ball joint spacers and 4-wheel alignment
• AC service
• Auxiliary battery system updated to our current state-of-the-art system
• Solar panel system updated to be quick-release
• Fresh windshield and repainted nose
• New plate steel rear bumper with integral trailer hitch
• New gray 100% acrylic 3-window pop-top tent
• New Engel refrigerator—they kept their old one!
She is all shined up, in some ways BETTER than the first time around, and ready for a new home! It has only 17,290 miles more than when he purchased it, and is selling for a full $13,329.90 less!
This Syncro Westy would cost over $95k to build today. All the vehicles we offer are good values, but this one is a particularly good one.
So, why the heck was this Syncro here so long! Who knows...
Harlan got a GREAT deal on this Syncro Westy. The total out the door price included all of the above, plus:
• Front skid plate instead of low-hanging spare and carrier
• Compact collapsible spare tire on top of skid plate
• Portable compressor to fill spare
• Double swing away carrier on rear, with
• Full size spare tire and wheel, and
• One fresh water and three fuel cans
• Updated solar panel kit
• Updated stereo with hands free cell and iPod
Nice buy, Harlan!

Lucas,
One beautiful vanagon is presently sitting in my driveway just waiting for its first big outing! After chasing the vehicle truck around Eugene last Friday night, we finally found a place to unload it in the middle of heavy traffic, but we managed just fine. I spent much of the weekend trying to figure out how everything works, but at least managed to find the switch below the dashboard that turns on the radio!
The next project is how to get the guy into my garage (I considered storing it for the winter, but want to be close to it . . . perhaps just to snuggle in the back from time to time!). I think if I let a little air out of each tire I can clear the door beam.
I met another Westy fan yesterday at the DMV getting it registered and learned of the Pacific NW club called WetWesties. Sounds like a good idea, eh?
I have many, many questions about the van and hope to not bug you too much, but I am mystified by a couple of things so far. Will I find a useful place on your website to learn how to use the Syncro buttons on the dash? And what is the function of the button and blinking LED light that are located to the right of the instrument panel below the hazard light?
Thanks very much for filling the gas tank! Do you recommend regular or premium unleaded gas? Can I assume that maintenance items are set to zero on the van's arrival?
I will try to attach a few photos for you, but am an amateur at including attachments, so be patient!
Needless to say I am excited to try the van out in the mountains, though I may have to wait until the spring thaw for that.
I'll send more photos in another message!
Harlan

Hey, Harlan,
Yup, she is a SWEET ride, and you got a very good deal on her, congratulations.
To understand the three knobs, please read these two articles:
http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=627
http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=870
The red LED is part of the keyless entry system—blinking means “locked," and the flashing light is just a fake alarm warning (no alarm). In your paperwork is a manual on that system.
Always use only premium fuel, please read this: http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=1054
Yes, you can assume zero miles for maintenance, and follow this schedule: http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=313
Thanks for all the photos and the great email!
Enjoy!
Lucas
