Finally got this one more finely penciled out...
This white 1989 is here on consignment. It has 257,137 miles on it, but you would definitely not know it by looking at it or driving it. It comes with a FAT folder of service records. All major systems have been gone through in the last 75k miles or so with records to support. This Westy has absolutely no rust and no signs of collision damage.
The exterior is a 9.5/10--most of the paint is original and in great shape, the rear hatch and part of the right rear 1/4 (around the fuel filler) has been repainted sometime in the past. We just had the right rear fender flare straightened and repainted, that was the only body damage that needed re-paint. The rest of the stuff was repaired by Mike, our local and very talented paintless dent repair guy, without breaking the paint. All that cost about $1000 and is done, which has to be added to the $20,900 price. All left to do on the outside is to clean it thoroughly, polish and wax the paint, and repaint the bumpers, door mounted ground effects panels, and front spoiler.
The interior is a 9.5/10--and will be cleaned thoroughly and make sure all the equipment is functional. It will also get a refrigerator update and a new LP tank.
Mechanically it does not need a whole bunch. This Westy was here back in July, 2005 and we did a mechanical check-out at that time. It has a stock 2.1 liter, 90HP engine with about 90k miles on it. It runs well, and the head gaskets are super dry. It has a super minor oil leak (not worth fixing) and the exhaust system needs a bit of work that it will get for sure. The only reason to do the whole engine now would be to put a more powerful, 2.4 in it.
This is Arturo and his darling daughter who's name I just can't remember! Sorry about that!
They came all the way for Portland to pick up this sweeeeet little 89 Syncro Westy that was here on consignment for $19,000. We marked it up 10% to cover our consignment commission. So the vehicle itself was $20,900 to begin with, which was a great starting point for a solid Syncro Westy.
The total out the door price came to $42,923.23, including:
